Privacy policy

Plinth keeps your preferences, presets and projects in the app's own support folder on your Mac. Nothing in there is sent to us. Deleting the app removes the app; you can delete its support folder to remove the rest.

Presets and projects are local for now. If iCloud sync arrives, it will be optional, will use Apple's own container, and we still will not see the contents.

Images you open are read from disk and rendered on your Mac. Exports are written where you choose — by default, your Desktop. We never receive, transmit or store them, and there is no telemetry describing what is in them.

Checkout is handled by a third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record. They collect your email, payment details and whatever tax information the law requires, under their own privacy policy. We receive an order record and your email address so we can send the licence key and support you.

Activating a key contacts our licence relay with the key and an anonymous identifier for that installation, so a licence can be counted and later deactivated. No names, no file contents, no screenshot data.

If you email support, we keep the thread — your address, your message, and any attachments you chose to send — so we can follow it up and recognise a repeat report. We do not add you to a mailing list from a support email.

If you email us about a licence, we keep that thread with your order record so we can reissue or move a key later.

The site is a set of static pages. It sets no advertising cookies and runs no cross-site trackers. Our host keeps standard server logs, including truncated IP addresses, for security and to count visits in aggregate.

The site loads the Material Symbols icon font from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers. If that matters to you, a content blocker will stop it and the pages still work.

Where UK and EU data protection law applies, we rely on performing our contract with you (selling and licensing the app), and our legitimate interest in running a secure website and answering support mail.

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our processing. Email us and we will act within a month; you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Support email: up to two years after the thread ends. Purchase and licence records: as long as tax law requires, usually six years. Early-access addresses: until Pro ships, or until you ask us to remove yours.

Plinth is a professional tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top, and say so alongside the release that changed it. Material changes will be explained rather than quietly edited in.
